Azimuth Alignment Comparison
Audio comparisons below are raw capture audio files with no modifications or enhancements.
These are samples from St. John Fisher College's Media Library Archives.
Original tape was 1/4" reel-to-reel, 1-7/8 ips from a 1963 recording of
Father Charles Lavery introducing Bishop Kearney during a groundbreaking at the college.
St John Fisher College first used a well-known local audio recording studio to convert the first sample.
The studio did not have the capability to align the playback head to the original record head azimuth.
The second sample is after azimuth alignment to the original record head using one of our
archival conversion decks. At MTS, all formats of audiotape playbacks decks have this capability.
